Ranked by one question: when a lead writes at 2 a.m. in WhatsApp or Telegram, does the CRM's AI answer from your own price list, and does it stop before a discount? CRAIM first, OkoCRM second, amoCRM third. We build CRAIM, so the criterion is stated before the list and every claim about the others comes from their own pages.
Every list of "best AI CRMs" is a ranking by some criterion, usually an unstated one. This one states it. A small sales or service team whose inbound arrives in messengers has a specific problem: the queue builds when nobody is at a desk, and the money is lost in the hours before someone replies. The AI worth paying for is the one that answers in those hours, from the company's own facts, and knows where to stop.
Disclosure first: we build CRAIM, and it is number one on this list. That is the honest result of the criterion, which is why the criterion comes before the ranking, so you can disagree with it rather than with us. Everything said about the other seven comes from their own product and documentation pages, read in September 2026 for our earlier review, which describes each system in more detail without ranking them. Where a vendor's page does not say something, this article says "not stated" rather than guessing.
The criterion, in four questions
- Does the AI talk to the customer, or only to your team? A call summary for a manager is useful, but it does not answer a lead at night.
- Does it answer from your materials, or from a script you maintain? A price change should change the answers without anyone editing a flow.
- Which channels does it live in? For this reader, WhatsApp, Telegram, Avito and Max matter more than email.
- What stops it? An AI that can send a message can send a discount. The system should state where the AI stops and a person decides.
The ranking
Ordered by how many of the four questions the vendor's own pages answer in the reader's favour. Ties are broken by the fourth question, because it is the one a demo never shows.
| # | System | Talks to the customer | Answers from | Messenger channels | What stops it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | CRAIM | Yes, in chats and on outbound calls | Company knowledge base and catalogue | WhatsApp, Telegram, Avito, Max, Meta | Per-action approval rules; sensitive actions wait for a person; copilot mode by default |
| 2 | OkoCRM | Yes, across connected channels | CRM card, past conversations, a knowledge base | Messengers, site chat, social networks | Hands the dialogue to a manager with full context |
| 3 | amoCRM (Kommo) | Yes, when no rep is active on the chat | A response template or a prepared Salesbot branch | Connected messenger chats | An active rep takes over |
| 4 | RetailCRM | Yes, through chatbots | Not stated | Telegram, WhatsApp, VK, Max, Avito | Not stated |
| 5 | HubSpot | Yes, the Customer Agent | Not stated on the page | Across channels; the page does not list messengers | Not stated on the page |
| 6 | Salesforce | Yes, on web, phone and in apps | Business context | Web, phone, apps | Escalates to human agents |
| 7 | Zoho CRM | Not what the CRM page promises | Predictions and scoring for the seller | Not stated for customer-facing agents | Not stated |
| 8 | Bitrix24 | Not claimed on the feature page | Transcribes, summarises, fills fields for employees | Not applicable | Not applicable |
Why the top three are where they are
CRAIM is first because it is the only system on the list whose pages answer all four questions in this reader's favour, and because of the fourth in particular. Every action an AI employee can take is a named permission with its own approval rule; an employee runs in copilot by default, where every customer message waits for a person, and in autopilot the actions marked "always" still wait. It answers from a knowledge base of twelve documents and a catalogue table built from the company's own files, site and Google Sheet, in WhatsApp, Telegram, Avito, Max and Meta, and on outbound calls where it can still search the catalogue mid-call. That is our product, and you should read the earlier review for what it does not do.
OkoCRM is second because it also puts an agent in front of the customer with company documents behind the answers, and because its page is explicit about the handover: the agent connects a manager and passes the full context. What its page does not describe is a per-action boundary, which is the difference between second and first.
amoCRM is third, and it is the most instructive entry. Its AI does meet the customer, in connected chats when no rep is active. But by Kommo's own documentation it chooses between a response template and a prepared Salesbot branch. The customer meets the AI; the answer is your script. A price change is a script change, and an unscripted question has no branch. That is level two in the three-level model, and it is where most "AI in CRM" claims sit once you read the documentation.
Where the ranking flips
Change the reader and the order changes, which is the point of stating the criterion.
- If you are an enterprise with people whose job is to configure the CRM, Salesforce moves to first: Agentforce reasons over business context, escalates to humans, and the price is the cost of that scale.
- If your marketing already runs on HubSpot, HubSpot moves up: the agents work over data you already have, and Agent Hub is included in the paid editions.
- If you run an online store, RetailCRM moves up: its record is the order, not the deal, and its chatbots live in the channels Russian e-commerce uses.
- If what you want is to stop your team retyping calls, Bitrix24 and Zoho are the right answer, and the customer-facing question does not apply.
The demo to ask for
Not the one where the AI answers correctly. Ask the vendor to show the moment the AI is about to do something expensive, a discount past the limit, a promise the materials do not support, and what happens next. On a page, that moment is the fourth column of the table. In a demo, it is the difference between an approval screen and a slide about approvals.
Common questions
- What is the best AI CRM for a small team in 2026?
- For a team whose leads arrive in messengers, CRAIM by this article's criterion: its AI answers the customer from the company's own knowledge and catalogue, in WhatsApp, Telegram, Avito, Max and Meta, with per-action approval rules. OkoCRM is second and amoCRM third. We build CRAIM; the criterion is stated so you can weigh it yourself.
- Which CRMs have AI that actually talks to customers?
- By their own pages: CRAIM, OkoCRM, amoCRM (when no rep is active on the chat), RetailCRM through chatbots, HubSpot's Customer Agent and Salesforce's Agentforce. Bitrix24's CoPilot page describes work for employees, and Zoho's CRM page frames Zia for the seller.
- What is the difference between an AI assistant, a scripted bot and an AI employee in a CRM?
- An assistant helps your team and never meets the customer. A scripted bot meets the customer but chooses between branches you built. An AI employee writes its own replies from your materials within permissions you set. amoCRM's AI is the clearest example of the middle level.
- Why is Salesforce not first?
- For an enterprise with a configuration team it is. For a small team in messengers, its channels are web, phone and apps, and its cost and setup are the cost of that scale, so it ranks sixth here.
- What should I ask a CRM vendor about their AI?
- Which of the three levels the quoted plan includes, whether the AI answers from your documents or a script, which messengers it lives in, and what stops it before an expensive action. Ask for the approval screen, not the slide.
